The Power of Persistence

Throughout my life, I’ve always been the persistent type (just ask my parents!). I’ve always had the ability to pick myself back up and learn from my mistakes. I was taught from a very young age that quitting is never acceptable. I’ve always done things from start to finish. When doing things, it’s important to overpromiseand overdeliver. This pushes you to do your absolute best. I understand that at times it can get tough and it feels like you’re not making any progress. Just know that its normal. Anything easy isn’t worth doing. If you feel that pressure, it’s more important than ever to push back with even more force. The best way to combat this is to keep working. Perseverance is an important trait of a successful person. Being able to learn from mistakes is crucial. Having the mindset that everything is a learning experience really aids in the ability to be happy and have a positive outlook on life. Most people quit right before they make it. This is because it’s really difficult before you’re truly successful.

Sometimes people will tell you no. JK Rowling was denied by publishers 12 times! That was 12 people who told her that her work wasn’t good enough. She believed in herself so much that she persisted to try it for a thirteenth time. Most people would have accepted the first no. It’s important to believe in yourself even when nobody else does. Life can get lonely at times and if you don’t believe yourself, no one else will. Whatever your challenge is, keep pushing and you will reach success!
