Just showing up puts you ahead of most people. Commitment is hard to find and it’s a skill that is applicable in every part of our lives. I say it’s a skill because it can be learned. There is a certain amount of mental toughness that is needed to be committed. It can be tough sometimes, but anything worth doing is hard to do. Sometimes you’re going to have to force yourself to do these things. By doing this you’re building up a “mental callous” as David Goggins would say. It’s surprising how many people don’t have this basic skill. Whatever you are doing you should be committed 100%. Most people fail to meet their goals because of lack of commitment. There is no excuse for lack of commitment other than pure laziness. If you simply are willing to put in the work and learn, you can be successful. Keeping yourself accountable is important in commitment. You should be intermittently checking yourself to see if you still are truly committed. These tests serve a few purposes. They not only test commitment, but they also test to see whether or not you are efficient. If you are committed over a long period of time, you will see results. Each day of commitment builds on the last. I promise you that things will get easier as long as you are committed to grinding it out every day. There has never been a better time to start than now. Put one foot in front of the other and just keep going!
