You’ll never win the war by running from the battle. We often stray away from the things that bother us the most. It seems easier to forget about your problems than it is to actually take effort and to fix them. Until you are willing to find the solutions to your problems, your issues will only get worse. For example, if your credit card debt is bothering you, it becomes offensive to bring up in conversation or even look at the balance. You’re probably embarrassed by your problems. That is a great thing! It means you have enough self-awareness to know that it is a problem. The next step is a lot simpler than you may think. All you have to do is take action. Any action is better than none at all. By ignoring the issues, it makes it feel like the problems don’t exist. You’re always better off by attacking your problems head-on. Everytime we ignore our problems, the burden on our shoulders only gets heavier. Sometimes, we cut our deepest problems out of our lives. We may not even recognize them as an issue.
It’s time to take a look in the mirror and do some self-reflection. This will be painful, but it is essential to conquering your problems. By taking on your problems, you will develop a sense of self-awareness that will make all of your issues easier to deal with down the road. Search for the parts of your life that you dislike and make a promise with yourself to make the effort to better yourself. Do everything in your power to follow through with this promise. It’s going to be tough and you’re going to feel like quitting. You have to truly want a better life. It may seem easier in the short term to ignore problems, but it’s actually easier to deal with them when they first arise. It’s a fact that human have an inability to really see long term. We have a hard time comprehending our future self. The human mind isn’t designed to even fathom any other version of our self than the current version. We have to rewire our minds to truly see what we’re capable of. Set your goals high and take the action to overachieve them.
