Get Active in Your Community
Our communities have so much to offer! You’d be surprised of all the things you can learn from people you already “know”. There are 7+ billion people in the world! Go out and meet a few of them! Get involved! Chances are, you’ll see a few people all the time and you’ll start to develop a relationship with them.
You never know who you’ll meet! I’ve met Tai Lopez, Charlie “Rocket” Jabaley, and many local successful individuals simply by going out. I also learn the most at events! It’s a great way to meet diverse people and commingle ideas!
Utilize LinkedIn and Other Social Media
It’s so easy to send a DM and get to know people! Worst case scenario, they leave you on read! I’ve connected with all kinds of famous and successful people all because of a simple DM. Make that cold message! LinkedIn is underutilized when it comes to DMing important contacts. LinkedIn has far fewer users than any other popular social network. Here’s article I wrote on LinkedIn utilization. Don’t be afraid to ask! Just send them a message. Most people genuinely want to help others in any way they can!
Use Your Network’s Network
If you have great relationships, utilize them to meet other people! I’ve met so many people through my connections! When people believe in you, they’ll put their reputation on the line for you!
Develop Your Existing Relationships
Maintaining relationships takes continual effort. If you want a quality network, you have to maintain it. I try to stay in touch with all my contacts. It’s tough, but you never know where opportunities will come from. It’s best to remember that the more you give the more you will receive. If you want to receive more, you have to give more. If you want opportunities, you have to give opportunities. Relationships take work and are give and take.
